How to process returns with Apple Pay

As consumers’ interest and excitement for Apple Pay escalate throughout this month, there are certain things that merchants should be prepped for before its arrival.

For example, if a customer purchase something from you via Apple Pay, how exactly do you process a return if needed? No idea? I’ve done a little digging and this is what I found on Apple’s support page:

How do I process returns with Apple Pay?

Use the Device Account Number to find the purchase and process the return, just like you would with a traditional credit or debit card payment. To see the last four or five digits of the Device Account Number on iPhone, ask the customer to go to Passbook, tap the card, and tap   on the lower-right corner of the display. On Apple Watch, ask your customer to go to the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap Passbook & Apple Pay, and tap the card used for payment.

You can also have the customer hold their iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or Apple Watch near the reader, select the card they used to make the original payment, and authorize the return with Touch ID or passcode on iPhone, or by double-clicking the side button on Apple Watch.
