Our top favourite apps

By · 25 February, 2014

At judo, mobile apps are at the forefront with every project we take on. Analysing the apps potential, the interface and ingredients to it is key. Apps on any mobile device need to serve a purpose and fill the needs of the user or customer. We have lined up our favourite m-commerce apps from 2013, these have complimented our daily lives and activities and you would struggle to believe how you survived without them!

Hotel Tonight

One of the visually more successful apps, Hotel Tonight app delivers unbeatable deals at hotels up and down the country, as well as internationally. They even offer £15 off your first stay through the Hotel Tonight app. The low prices aren’t the only attractive feature about Hotel Tonight, they pride themselves on the stunning implemented interface just to show off, and like a well wrapped present, this app is a sight for sore eyes and simply a tool that pleases individuals of all wallet sizes. The information on hotels is presented in bullet points making it an easy read. Booking a hotel could not have been made easier.

Hailo

Taxi app- Hailo, really is one to shout about. The app recognises London, Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick and offers licensed taxi’s in real time, accepting cash or card payments. Hailo is a huge time saver, rescuing you from trying (and failing miserably) to flag a taxi or waiting around for the payment to go through, instead Hailo will email the receipt almost instantly and display on the app screen. No need to jump out of the taxi to get to an ATM and pay for the ride ; Hailo is the answer to your prayers.

Groupon

Boasting impressive reviews and ratings, Groupon reach for those 5 stars. The app includes 50-70% off stuff to do, see, eat and buy in over 500 cities! Groupon make it super easy to buy and redeem the deals through the app and users can track their purchased vouchers too. The Groupon App makes it effortless to browse discounted products and services that would otherwise be a struggle. The app includes the auction timer (usually found on the Groupon site) to prevent the browser from missing out.

Threadflip

In touching distance of 5 stars, Threadflip has outdone a lot of retailers and big brand apps. The fashion store works with customers so they can create a visual wardrobe enabling them to buy and sell products. The app is aesthetically attractive but also includes very simple features including the ability to manage sales, track orders, and browse by category/style/brand/size and save your favourite looks. They take the user-friendly experience that Instagram has (double tapping to like, or in Threadflip’s case- save) to increase simplicity of the app. The customer can search for inspiration on how to wear the items, creating an “it’s all about me” buzz. Additionally, there is up to 70% off retail prices and the opportunity to get your hands on Vuitton to DVF!

Skyscanner

One little treasure to hold onto like gold is the Skyscanner app, which should be the first step for anyone looking for flights. The interface is superbly simple but holds all the information anyone would want and need when about to book a getaway. The user can select the flight details such as from, to, department and return times as well as passenger information and cabin class. The prices are displayed clearly at the top of the screen (in a huge neon green ticket shape icon, just try and miss it!) Additionally, all the vital pricing information about when it’s cheapest to fly is shown in bar charts, Skyscanner really highlights everything making flight booking easier than ever.
